Brief description This 1 Cruzeiro banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Brazil as a standard circulation banknote and was demonetized on February 27, 1986. The note measures 147 by 66 mm.

Obverse: Executed in green with a polychrome underprint (offset and chalcography techniques). On the right, inside a circle, is the effigy of the Republic looking to the left. Inscriptions include the bank name «BANCO CENTRAL DO BRASIL» and the denomination «UM CRUZEIRO». The designer was Aloísio Sérgio Barbosa de Magalhães and the engraver was Benedito de Araújo Ribeiro.

Reverse: On the left, on a green medallion, is the project of the Amortization Box building. Inscriptions include the bank name and the printing entity «CASA DA MOEDA DO BRASIL».

Security elements and substrate: The banknote was printed on paper by the Casa da Moeda do Brasil. The watermark features effigies of the Republic.
