Brief description The visual design of this famous banknote is entirely dedicated to the theatrical arts, classical architecture, and monumental sculpture of the capital. This note belongs to the ongoing "Cities & Monuments" series (post-denomination period) and features the upgraded security modification. The dimensions of the note are 150 x 65 mm.

Obverse: The central theme features a detailed artistic rendering of the Greek God Apollo riding a Quadriga (a chariot pulled by four horses). This world-renowned copper sculpture group, crafted by the prominent sculptor Peter Clodt von Jürgensburg, stands atop the portico of the Bolshoi Theatre's main facade in Moscow. The top left bears the inscription “БИЛЕТ БАНКА РОССИИ”, while the upper right corner displays the double-headed eagle emblem of the issuing bank. The left side includes a distinct vertical overprint reading “МОДИФИКАЦИЯ - 2004 г.” alongside the standard legal warning against counterfeiting.

Reverse: Displays a central panoramic view of the iconic Bolshoi Theatre building in Moscow, one of the world's most celebrated historic opera and ballet houses designed in the neoclassical style. Below the grand structure, the location caption “МОСКВА” is featured. The numeral “100” appears in the upper left and bottom right corners, while the denomination is stated in words at the bottom as “СТО РУБЛЕЙ”.

Security Features & Substrate: The note is printed on a high-grade paper substrate with a complex multicolored geometric underprint. Its security framework for this specific modification includes a metallic security thread embedded into the paper (showing on the surface as a dashed windowed line), multicolored protective fibers, microprinting, and a dual local watermark consisting of the Bolshoi Theatre facade accompanied by a high-contrast electrotype numeral “100”.

Topical Collecting Themes: Theatre and classical opera houses on currency, ancient mythology and deities on banknotes (Apollo, quadriga, horses), monumental sculpture and masterpieces of Peter Clodt, neoclassical architecture, "Cities of Russia" thematic series (Moscow).
