Brief description The design of this two-coin commemorative set is dedicated to a tragic yet magnificent chapter in Ukrainian culture—the generation of intellectuals, writers, poets, and artists who led a powerful national cultural revival but were ruthlessly suppressed and executed by the Soviet totalitarian regime. The coins are conceptually unified by the themes of artistic resilience, memory, and a deep historical wound.

Coin 1: "The Executed Renaissance. Ivan Padalka"
Obverse: The central composition features the stylized inscription "СЛОВО" ("WORD"), naming the famous residential building of authors in Kharkiv. Inside the texture of the letters, winter wheat sprouts are visible, symbolizing the young, rising generation of creators. The historical tragedy is underscored by a bullet hole in the letter "О", from which blood drips. The bottom area displays the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the country's name, the face value "5" with the hryvnia symbol, the NBU Banknote and Mint logo, and the minting year.

Reverse: Set against a mirror-like background is a stylized portrait of Ivan Padalka, a prominent Ukrainian avant-garde artist and Boychukist. His image is depicted as an invasion of foreign bodies that structurally shatters and deconstructs the central emblem of the Soviet regime—the hammer and sickle. To the left, the name "ІВАН ПАДАЛКА" and his lifespan (1894–1937) are struck in sharp relief.

Coin 2: "The Executed Renaissance. Maik Johansen"
Obverse: Features the identical unified series design showcasing the symbolic word "СЛОВО", the wheat shoots embedded in the typeface, and the bleeding, bullet-pierced letter "О". The standard legal tender elements—the small Coat of Arms, the inscription "УКРАЇНА", the denomination, and the year—are positioned underneath.

Reverse: Features a stylized portrait of Maik Johansen, a brilliant poet, novelist, and linguist, presented as if on a book's title page where a sheet bearing his name is being violently torn out. The layout, paired with his name "МАЙК/ЙОГАНСЕН" and lifespan (1895–1937), symbolizes the regime's systematic efforts to completely erase the memory of Ukraine's cultural elite.
