Brief description This banknote is part of the 2026 series, representing Zimbabwe's gold-backed currency, the ZiG (Gold). Issued on April 7, 2026, it is printed on a paper substrate and measures 137 x 65 mm.

Obverse: Features the Zimbabwe bird on a star as a registration device and PEAK device, an elephant, and the Chiremba balancing rocks in Epworth. Gold bars are depicted in the lower right corner. The note bears the signature of Dr. John Mushayavanhu, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Reverse: Highlights the New Parliament Building in Mount Hampden and includes gold bars and the Zimbabwe bird registration device.

Technical Details: The watermark features the Zimbabwe bird and the electrotype numeral "20".

Why add to collection: This banknote represents Zimbabwe's official currency, which replaced the rapidly depreciating Zimbabwean dollar. The ZiG is backed by US$575 million in hard assets, such as gold and foreign currencies. Collecting these notes is essential for documenting Zimbabwe's transition toward a currency backed by precious metals and hard assets.
