Brief description This 200 Drachmes banknote was issued by the Bank of Greece as part of the 1978–1997 series. It was issued on November 4, 1996, and demonetized on March 1, 2012.

Main features: The banknote is made of paper and measures 129 by 65 mm.

Obverse design: Orange color. It features Rigas Velestinlis-Feraios, people singing, and the quote: "The one who thinks freely, thinks well".

Reverse design: Orange color. It depicts the oil painting "The Secret School" by Nikolaos Gyzis.

Production: The note was printed at the Bank of Greece's own printing works.

Security elements: Watermark of the head of King Philip II of Macedonia.
