  • 25 Rubles, Belarus, 1992, UNC
Features
Brief description The visual design of this historical banknote celebrates regional wildlife and national heraldry, reflecting the early period of recovered state independence. The dimensions of the note are 105 x 52 mm.

Obverse: The central composition features a detailed illustration of a moose, symbolizing the rich forest fauna of the region. All inscriptions are written in the Cyrillic script using the Belarusian language. The face value is stated at the top in words “ДВАЦЦАЦЬ ПЯЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ”, with a large numeral “25” positioned below the animal.

Reverse: The reverse depicts the historic “Pahonia” (Chase) coat of arms at the center, featuring a charging warrior on horseback with a raised sword, which served as the state emblem during the early 1990s. The lower section carries the issuing authority's name and the series year: “РАЗЛІКОВЫ БІЛЕТ НАЦЫЯНАЛЬНАГА БАНКА БЕЛАРУСІ”. It also includes a standard legal warning against counterfeiting: “ПАДРОБКА РАЗЛІКОВЫХ БІЛЕТАЎ НАЦЫЯНАЛЬНАГА БАНКА БЕЛАРУСІ ПРАСЛЕДУЕЦЦА ПА ЗАКОНУ”.

Security Features & Substrate: The note is printed on a traditional paper substrate. Its security framework features fine-line geometric underprints and a watermark pattern, which occurs in two distinct varieties: either with a horizontal or a vertical orientation of the design elements. This banknote has been officially demonetized and is no longer legal tender.

Topical Collecting Themes: Animals on currency (moose, wildlife, forest fauna), horses on banknotes, state heraldry and historical coats of arms (“Pahonia” warrior, equestrian themes), early independence issues, banknotes of the former USSR, post-Soviet numismatics, demonetized and obsolete world currencies.
