Features
Brief description This set contains three paper banknotes in denominations of 100, 500, and 1000 Rupees.

Obverse: A common feature across all three denominations is the depiction of Mount Everest on the left. The center and right sections display historical monuments and cultural symbols: the 100 Rupees features the Ashoka Pillar in Lumbini (the birthplace of Lord Buddha), a map outline of Nepal, and a cameo of Mayadevi; the 500 Rupees showcases Mount Ama Dablam; the 1000 Rupees features the Swayambhunath Buddhist stupa and the Harati Hindu temple.

Reverse: Dedicated to the large fauna of the region. The 100 Rupees portrays an Indian Rhinoceros with its offspring among tall grass; the 500 Rupees portrays a roaming tiger; the 1000 Rupees depicts two Asian elephant twins (Ram and Lakshman).

Watermark: The Rhododendron (Nepal's national flower), with the 1000 Rupees denomination including an additional electrotype "1000".

Dimensions: 146 × 70 mm (100 Rupees), 160 × 70 mm (500 Rupees), 172 × 70 mm (1000 Rupees).

Why add to your collection: This set represents the higher denominations of Nepal's contemporary currency system, produced by world-renowned security printers (De La Rue, Perum Peruri, and China Banknote Printing). The 1000 Rupees note features native Asian elephants, correcting a design error from older series that featured an African elephant. The notes include embedded security elements with the microtext "NRB". This lot is suitable for specialized collections: world currencies of Asia, big game fauna and wildlife (tigers, rhinos, elephants), Buddhism, religious architecture, and geography (mountain ranges on banknotes).
