Brief description The design of this polymer 5 Dollars banknote from the "Portrait Series" reflects Singapore’s national identity and its celebrated status as a Garden City. The visual layout harmoniously balances the image of the nation's first head of state on the front with the multi-century natural heritage of the Botanical Gardens on the back.

Obverse: The primary vignette features a detailed portrait of Encik Yusof bin Ishak, the first president of the Republic of Singapore. The national coat of arms of Singapore is positioned in the top left corner. The inscriptions include the country's name in its four official languages: Malay, Chinese, Tamil, and English — «SINGAPURA / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் / SINGAPORE». The center carries the legal tender clause «THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER», the text denomination «FIVE DOLLARS», and the authority block «CHAIRMAN / MONETARY AUTHORITY OF SINGAPORE».
