Brief description The design of this historic banknote—the first serialization on polymer by the Bank of England—is dedicated to the modern history of Great Britain, wartime resilience, statecraft, and global leadership. The visual composition artfully blends iconic symbols of British parliamentary democracy with accolades celebrating intellectual and political triumphs.

Obverse: The right side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the title of the Bank of England and the traditional promissory clause for five pounds positioned centrally. On the left, a large transparent security window integrates a metallic depiction of the Elizabeth Tower (housing Big Ben), showing gold on the front and silver on the back. The colored border around this window shifts from purple to green when tilted. The security elements also feature a silver foil patch containing a 3D image of the coronation crown and a circular green foil patch spelling out the word "BLENHEIM". The hologram text alternates between the words "Five" and "Pounds".

Reverse: The back showcases a central portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, one of Great Britain's most legendary Prime Ministers. To the left is a scenic view of Westminster and the Elizabeth Tower as seen from London's South Bank across Westminster Bridge. Depicted above the architecture is the Nobel Prize medal in Literature awarded to Churchill, displaying part of the official motto: "Inventas vitam iuvat excoluisse per artes" ("It is beneficial to have improved [human] life through discovered arts"). Engraved below his portrait is his famous wartime rallying cry: "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat".

Watermark / Clear Window: A crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II printed directly onto the clear polymer window, surrounded by the microtext "£5 Bank of England" repeated twice along the edge.
