Brief description The design of this high-tech polymer banknote is dedicated to the birth of computer science, mathematics, cryptography, and a monumental contribution to the Allied victory during World War II. The visual layout honors one of the most influential scientific minds of the 20th century.

Obverse: The right side features the official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the title of the Bank of England and the traditional promissory clause for fifty pounds positioned in the center. Security is enhanced by a large transparent window featuring a hologram text that alternates between the words "Fifty" and "Pounds" when tilted.

Reverse: The back showcases a portrait of Alan Turing, the eminent British mathematician, logician, and pioneer of computing. The background design incorporates mathematical tables, formulae, technical blueprints, and structural elements of the Bombe machine used to break the German Enigma cipher. Alongside is his celebrated prophetic quote: "This is only a foretaste of what is to come, and only a shadow of what is going to be".
