Brief description This 500 Franc banknote was issued by the Central Bank of the Congo and serves as a standard circulation banknote. The note measures 150 by 70 mm.

Obverse: Features miners and a diamond on the left, and three diamonds on the right. Inscriptions are in Latin script: the bank's name «BANQUE CENTRALE DU CONGO» and the denomination «CINQ CENTS FRANCS».

Reverse: Includes the bank's name, the denomination «500F», and a legal warning stating that counterfeiters will be punished with penal servitude («LE CONTREFACTEUR EST PUNI DE SERVITUDE PENALE»).

Security elements and substrate: The banknote was printed on paper by various printers, including Crane Currency, Giesecke+Devrient, Hôtel des Monnaies, and Orell Füssli. The watermark depicts the head of an Okapi (Okapia johnstoni), a giraffe relative that resembles a zebra.
