Brief description	The visual layout of this banknote illustrates religious and historical monuments of great cultural relevance to Yemen. Originally issued under the denomination of 5000 Rials, this piece on a paper substrate presents a historical particularity: it is classified as a contemporary counterfeit associated with militia activities within the context of the country's civil conflict. These notes were neither approved nor placed into official circulation by the Central Bank of Yemen. The dimensions of the note are 159 x 84 mm. All inscriptions on the front are written in the Arabic script, while the back utilizes the Latin alphabet. Obverse: The front displays a blue and green multicolor print, highlighting the Al-Muhdhar Mosque at the center, located in the historic city of Tarim and famous for its distinctive minaret. It contains official inscriptions with the name of the issuing bank in Arabic «البنك المركزي اليمني» (Central Bank of Yemen) along with traditional decorative elements. Reverse: The back exhibits green lettering on a predominantly blue background. The central motif depicts the Throne of the Queen of Bilqis (Queen of Sheba), an important archaeological site situated in Ma'rib, alongside the country's coat of arms. The text features the denomination and the institution's title in English: "CENTRAL BANK OF YEMEN" and "FIVE THOUSAND RIALS". Issue Characteristics & Context: Despite displaying the corresponding Hijri year within the design, this specific variety is recognized as an illegal contemporary military or political production. According to numismatic records, large batches of these unauthorized banknotes were intercepted and seized by government forces in remote desert areas, preventing their illicit injection into the local economy.
