Brief description The visual design of this banknote reflects the architectural heritage of the capital and the initial period of the formation of the modern financial system following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Obverse: The central composition features a detailed view of Saint Basil's Cathedral (the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat), a world-famous landmark of traditional architecture located on Red Square in Moscow. The top bears the inscription “БАНК РОССИИ” alongside the numeral “5000”. The denomination appears below in words as “ПЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ” along with the series year, and a standard legal warning against currency counterfeiting. The field features the signature of the first Chairman of the Central Bank, Georgy Matyukhin.

Reverse: Showcases a panoramic artistic rendering of the Moscow Kremlin complex, displaying a historic set of civil and religious buildings overlooking the Moskva River. The denomination is highlighted across the center in bold text as “ПЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ”, with the numeral “5000 РУБЛЕЙ” repeated in the upper left corner.

Security Features & Substrate: The note is printed on a standard paper substrate without an embedded security thread.
