It is dedicated to the bright pearl of Ukrainian folk art - Kosiv ceramics, which got its name from the city of Kosiv in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The aesthetics and style born in the Ukrainian Carpathians cannot be confused with anything else. The main elements of Kosiv painting are flowers, patterns that turn into geometric ornaments; birds and images of people in national Hutsul clothes are made in a special range of mostly green, yellow and brown colors. Loyalty to tradition, rich bright colors, and thematic plots - all of these things still distinguish the original Kosiv painting.
The obverse of the coin features: in the upper part of the semicircle is the inscription UKRAINE, below which is the year of minting 2017 and the small State Emblem of Ukraine; a stylized composition: on a mirror background in the center is a painted kumanets, to the right and left of which are figures of a girl and a boy in national costumes - elements of Kosovo paintings; below is the denomination - TEN Hryvnias.
The reverse of the coin depicts a colored (tampon-printed) plate with a rooster (concave surface) and the inscriptions: KOSOVSKY PAPER (above), PLATE `ROOSTER' (below), stylized roosters on the right and left against a mirror background.
