As a banknote collector, I have a grand goal – to collect all the specimens that have been nominated for the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) Banknote of the Year award since 2004. This is not just a hobby, but a true passion that allows me to connect with the history and culture of different countries through their national currencies.

Today, I want to share some exciting news: my collection is now complete for the year 2023! This includes 15 unique banknotes, each of which was nominated for the title of the most beautiful and innovative banknote of the year. The grand winner this year is the $2 Caribbean Islands note, which was recognized not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its innovative approach to design and production technology.

Every banknote in my collection is a true piece of art. These are not merely tools of exchange but symbols of national identity. The Caribbean Islands banknote, in particular, stands out with its vibrant colors, modern design, and security features that make it one of the most original in the world.

Collecting nominated banknotes is like embarking on a journey into the world of art, technology, and culture. Each banknote has its own story to tell: from the new printing technologies to the innovative security elements, and the symbolic images that reflect important events or achievements of the respective country.

My 2023 collection is the result of long searches and meticulous work, but there’s still so much more ahead. The 2023 set is complete, but many notes from previous years remain that were also nominated for this prestigious award. My goal is to collect every one of these valuable pieces that caught the attention of IBNS experts.

This process brings not only joy but also knowledge. Each banknote tells its own story about the country it represents – its culture, prominent figures, and natural riches.

Completing a full collection of nominated banknotes is not only a personal achievement but also a chance to share fascinating facts and stories with other collectors and enthusiasts. Each specimen is a unique masterpiece, and I’m thrilled to share this passion with others.

There are more discoveries to come, as my collection continues to grow!

Happy collecting to all of you!
