It is dedicated to the endangered species of perennial herbaceous plant from the family Zozulintsevyh, or Orchidaceae, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine - true Cuckoo's slippers. These charming flowers, one of the most famous orchids in the Northern Hemisphere, resemble the slippers of Eastern peoples with their original beauty.
The obverse of the coin is framed by a wreath made up of images of certain species of flora and fauna and features the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription: UKRAINE/10/HRYVNIA/2016.
The reverse of the coin depicts real cuckoo's shoes and has semicircular inscriptions: REAL CUCOOLY BOTTIES (above), CYPRIPEDIUM CALCEOLUS L. (below).
