Tiraspol, November 3, 2025 – The Transnistrian Republican Bank (TRB) has announced the introduction of a new 200 Ruble banknote of the B232a series into circulation. This issue, designated as PNL (Preliminary Note List), is part of a series of updated monetary instruments aimed at strengthening anti-counterfeiting security and reflecting key historical events of the region. The value of the banknote is approximately 24 US dollars at the current exchange rate.

The banknote is executed in a pink and burgundy color scheme, ensuring aesthetic harmony and recognizability. The dimensions of the note are 135 x 64 mm, and it is made of high-quality paper, meeting modern standards for printing monetary instruments.

The obverse features a portrait of Count Pyotr Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky, an outstanding military commander of the Russian Empire in the 18th century, famous for his victories in the Russo-Turkish Wars. The text on the banknote is presented in Russian, which is standard for the Transnistrian currency. A QR code for authentication and the TRB logo are also present. These elements not only facilitate authenticity checks but also integrate digital technologies into the traditional design.

The reverse side is dedicated to the Battle of the Kagul River (Kagul, now in Moldova), which took place in 1770 during the Russo-Turkish War. The image illustrates a key moment of the confrontation: horsemen in a dynamic battle, symbolizing the heroism and strategic genius of Rumyantsev. Below the image is a Russian text describing the event: "Битва на Кагулі 1770 р." (Battle of the Kagul 1770) and the denomination "200".

Among the security features, a continuous window security thread stands out, running through the banknote and containing microtext and holographic inserts for visual verification. The watermark reproduces the portrait of Pyotr Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky with the electrotype "ПРБ" (TRB), ensuring multi-layered authentication when held up to the light.

The issue is dated 2025, without the signature of an authorized person. The series prefix is BP, indicating the first batch. The printing was carried out on the territory of Transnistria, adhering to international security standards. This banknote complements the series of ruble denominations, adapted to the economic needs of the region, and emphasizes the historical heritage associated with victories in the struggle for territorial integrity.

The introduction of the new note takes place against the backdrop of the stabilization of the Transnistrian financial system, where the ruble serves as the main means of payment. The TRB emphasizes that the B232a series is intended to minimize the risks of counterfeiting and facilitate circulation for citizens. The banknotes will be gradually introduced through the banking network, with the simultaneous withdrawal of worn samples.

This issue demonstrates the commitment of the Transnistrian Republican Bank to combine tradition with innovation, preserving cultural identity in the design of monetary instruments.
